My wife joined in the hobby. At least it's not a Camaro!

When we met over ten years ago, my wife thought cars were just transportation. She had a Beetle ragtop for a driver a few years ago, but it was a POS and she got a Hyundai Accent penalty box for a daily driver. Her first car was a Mustang II Ghia. After I dropped some serious coin on my 'runner earlier this year, she has been talking about getting a toy car of her own. Ragtop, automatic, cute were her criteria. She likes pink. Browsing the internet we found a 1998 Mustang GT ragtop in PINK! Drove six hours Friday, crashed at a hotel, checked it out Saturday, drove it home. Only 62,000 miles. The dealer bought it at auction to give to his daughter but she didn't like it. Not pink enough, I guess! No mods other than Flowmasters. She decided she wanted it if we could change the interior color to black, which I said I could. We got home and got on the internet and found that a guy 30 minutes from us was parting out a 1998 Cobra with black interior, which we nabbed today. It was meant to be! It will be great to do cruises and car shows together.

I have to say i don't really like the newer cars and my wife and i often get into it about them with mostly the looks of them, she driving a 2010 Merc, to me it looks like a box with wheels, cant help it but this one has some lines, some character about it and a ragtop? well that just makes them better because of the way they build them, i think your right! You and your better 1/2 will enjoy some great cruises with this...... AND the RR!!!!

Hi Greg!
Im happy for you and your wife, congrads on her find.
I'm not a "HATER" of other brands...except for Cheverolets....tee-hee-hee...

Anyway, tell her I said "nice car"

Good luck...

Yup, that will look much better with a black gut....

If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! :icon_wink:

Car doesn't look too bad, but i'd have to agree with the other guy's daughter and say the car isn't pink enuf. LOL. Hope your wife enjoys cruising around in her new toy.

We forgot to get the steering column covers from the guy with the interior and went over today to pick it up. He had just got in another car and my wife found black sill plates on it. He took them off and threw those in free. She like the wheels. Uh oh! Her car came with the 15" V6 wheels in the pics with 215-70/15 soccer mom tires. We now have a set of staggered FR500 rims with 275-35 and 295-35/18s! I have a front strut brace on order, and with these gumballs the ragtop body is gonna need all the help it can get! Next, rear shock brace and subframe connectors...

So, who wins in the quarter? ;)

Let's see, fresh 440 six pack with Edelbrock RPMs and .525 lift Comp cam, headers, 3" exhaust vs. 61,000 mile bone stock 281 with Flowmasters. Do the math!

need to whack some nice wheels on it bud, they are terribad.

sorry typed before I read haha, good job
