I have quite a few mystery vacuum lines in my Charger. Anybody know what's what?

Both are seen in this picture:

First one is orange and plugged with a fuse - it comes off the back of the carb.

Second one is black - hangs off the back of the firewall and just drops behind the motor. The other end goes around hangs on the fender and drops before the radiator. You can see it off to the left of the white box on the firewall which I have no idea what that is either (I'm still new here)

Also car has drum brakes, no factory A/C, standard headlights, etc. It's a base model - no frills.

There is a small black box in the air cleaner that goes down to a pin. it looks like this pin has a miniscule hole in it. I'll see if it will attach.

I have one on order Doc Brown. Thought maybe someone could point me in the right direction while I'm waiting. I would like to get he car mobile soon.

the one coming off the side small black tube should be vacuum advance, the orange ?? It should run with all those blocked off, I have seen a ton of old Mopars over the years look like that and ran fine, the line on the firewall is most likely going to the charcoal canister that was the first thing you unplugged because they use to suck that charcoal into the carb and would be a mess. Like I said should run fine.

No charcoal canister in 71. The one one on the firewall is most likely the washer fluid hose that connects to the hood.

T2R9, Your totally right, I was thinking differently because I had a 72 once!!!

If that's true then where is my fluid reservoir and nozzles? Or for that matter where SHOULD they be? Looks like they've been removed.:confused1:

I don't remember on the washer jets, I think mine were on the back underside of hood (been awhile!!!lol) and the washer tank should be on the passenger side inner fender, don't be alarmed most are long gone, I found everything for my 69 Charger on or in the car except for the dang washer bottle!!! lol

Hose on the firwall should attach to this and also run up to the washer bottle which is on the passenger side in front of the horns.

Seems mine's missing as well.

Wow, they had those things hidden good - found them though. This would also explain the extra wire and bolts I have over by the horns. They're probably for the missing pump and fluid tank.

Yeah they are glad you found em. Possibly didn't take that close of a look at the pump/tank area. But if you need a pic just let me know and i'll try to get one.
