My open Air Grabber scoop bounces to almost 1/2 closed after about 55 MPH. I have just started driving the car and noticed this problem. Does anyone have an exploded view of the N96 parts? There are cutouts on the actuator bracket that look like a spring might have been there at one time. My service manual does not include this option.

There is a spring that goes on it. You can get one from about any of the dealers like BE@A are Classic Ind. I don't have one on mine but it does'nt bounce as long as my hoses are hooked up.

Mine has a spring on it and no bounce, never tried it without the spring though.

Thank you for the illustrations. Now I know what it is supposed to look like. I see now how the spring can help keep everything tight.

With the engine off, can you push the door open a little? Mine pushes open about 3/4". When I add tension simulating the spring it does not open.

For a really good picture of the spring placement, look in the 1971-1974 Mopars "Air Grabber actuator spring placement" thread.
