how many songs can you think of that mention a mopar car (dodge, plymouth,or motor,etc..). One that comes to mind is steve earle-copperhead road.

Jan & Dean...Little old lady from pasadena...

"She drives a super stock dodge that beats all comers" or something close to that.

beach boys had a song about a 413 but can't think of the name.

I think it was really about a fuel injected Stingray. A buddy I had back in the 80's rewrote it to more correctly represent reality: Pedal to the floor hear those dual quads drink; now the fuel injected stingray's lead is starting to shrink; he's small with fuel injection but it's understood, I've got a ram inducted wedge sitting under my hood...

Springsteen has dozens of references. Two that are most prominent:

RAMROD = "She's a hot stepping hemi with a four on the floor"

BORN TO RUN = "Beyond the Palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard"

And best of all , the original version of RACING IN THE STREETS it is not a 69 Chevy with a 396. It is a 32 Ford with a 318. Bruce now performs the song as the original.

It was "..but parked in a rickety old garage is a brand new shiny red super stock Dodge."

The B-52's

Love Shack "Chrysler as big as a whale"

Planet Claire "She drove a Plymouth Satellite, faster than the speed of light"

Man that Bo Didley was fuc*ing awesome...He sure can pull those strings!!!

I spotted a Zombie in that Bo didley video at 1:07!!! LOL!! Drugged out their gourd!!! Copperhead Road has to be my favorite Mopar song as it goes on about what it was bought and used for telling a story it's my General Lee song! lol

Almost all of the Beach Boys , Jan & Dean 60's surfer & car music stuff was good, Little Old Lady From Pasadena really the only song about a Mopar though, deadmans curve is a slight to Mopars, getting beat by a SB FI Vette, I like Meep-Meeps version a lot better, the Roadrunner song was really about being out on the road, it is a great old song, that "Roadrunner" video with Bo Didely looked like it was filmed in London or at least in England with all those "groovy hipsters beatnics" back in the day, the remake by Aerosmith was pretty damn good too, I too like that "Copperhead rd." song but it dosen't mention any Mopars that I could hear anyway... There are some great old car songs most are about something other than Mopars though, Little Duece Coupe, Little GTO, Thunder road, My 409, Little Red Corvette & others, most of them are just names of Mopars or vague references & not really about cars at all or Mopars in general though... I like to believe they are about Mopars, but reality strike me from time to time..

Springsteen-Jungleland
"barefoot girl sittin on the hood of a Dodge"

Copperhead road mentions his granddaddy built a big block dodge for running "shine".I just wanted to start this thread and see how many songs there were that mentioned a mopar in any reference.i too like the other songs that have been stated.Kid Rock has a song that mentions a "71 super-charged big block hemi" but that cd is in my truck.

only one I can think of that has not been mentioned, and its not quite a mopar, it's a jeep.

But the song "four wheel drive" by C W McCall is a good one.

Now I got racin' stripes and dual pipes
And Smokey's got a Ford
Got a mill with a four pot carb, you know
But Smokey's stroked and bored
Well, the chase was on, but I had the edge
With a rig that'll never fail
Got a CJ-5 with the four-wheel drive
And Smokey on my tail
