I have a nice 65 big block cable shift transmission with a slip yoke. I am in south Louisiana

'65 Big Block 727's with the slip yoke are getting expensive, but you can pirate everything you need off a small block 727 from behind a 1965 318 Poly. You could also update the front end with input shaft, front pump, and front drum from '67 and newer 727 to take newer larger input shaft style torque convertor. Lots more choice of these than older small spline ones.

Just to be clear, there’s no such animal per se. Pushbuttons ended in ‘64 and slip yokes started in ‘65. Some level of mix-n-match here.

Install a 62-64 rooster comb. manual valve, and neutral safety switch. This will convert a 65 to a push button capable configuration.
