Hey guys,
I pulled the master cylinder off of my '71 Charger parts car in preparation for pulling the booster. I'm hoping to use it as a core for my '71 Road Runner clone. Getting the nuts off was no big problem... but then I couldn't get the darn M/C off of the booster. Well, a couple of good tugs later it came off, and out ran a blob of the nastiest, stickiest black goo I have ever seen. I can only assume that the M/C was leaking at the back into the booster.
Anyway the push rod came out the booster and is stuck in the back of the M/C... I'm guessing that is not normal? Any ideas how to get it out with scaring it up? I've attached a couple photos.
Lastly, my parts car is a 4-wheel drum car. And my '71 RR has discs, I've read conflicting info on whether or not the brake boosters are the same??? If they are in fact different, can the booster be rebuilt to function properly with disc brakes?
Thanks
