Ordering the rest of my parts for my disc brake conversions for '71 Charger. I know I need a Disc/Drum MC but all I can find is for power brakes staying with manual. So does anybody have a part number or know what car I need to get one from? I just want to make sure that it bolts up to my existing holes in firewall and backing plate. I was told this would work http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/cardone-master-cylinder-remanufactured-10-1627/5350751-P?navigationPath=L1*14921|L2*15008|L3*15692#fragment-1 will order if I know it will bolt right up.

Looks like the exact type I used on my conversion, for my 64.

But, I'd recommend getting a new one. First one I bought was 'remanufactured', put together wrong, using wrong parts.
Got my new one (about $50) from Napa. Just tell them what you need. There are minor differences from manual to power brake units, so tell them you want a manual MC.

I had to fit mounting studs on mine, but it all worked.

I use a the cast iron 4 bolt mounting manual master cylinder listed for a 1976 manual disk brake Volare. Got one in my 65 Sport Fury and one in my 65 Belvedere (I also have on in my 79 Volare as well). I like the 76 master cylinder as it looks right at home in the engine compartment. I feel the aluminum and plastic ones look out of place, but that's just me.

Would one with a Master Cylinder with a 1.03 in bore size be sufficient or would that cause a really hard petal.

The MC Badvert65 says, I'm pretty sure it's the exact one I have. Made for manual disc/drum brakes, with the recommended bore size.

Haven't had a chance to try mine...yet, so don't know how the brake pedal will be. (No motor...yet)
Taking a wild guess, thinking one of the guys with a running car can tell ya.

i got mine from orileys just disc/drum manual master cylender.. bolted right up on 69 gtx

I checked on line, the bore for the one I suggested is 1 1/32 (or 1.03) and I have had no issues with either my 65 Fury (big rotors and 11 inch drums) or my 65 Belvedere (smaller disks and 10 inch drums). I think the master cylinder is listed for either 76 Volare/Aspen or 76 Dart/Duster. If you look for an application, look under one of these vehicles with a slant six (3.7L-225 cuin) engine as most V-8 applications will only list power brakes.

The smaller the bore size the better 1.030 /1.0 Will work fine The bigger the bore size the harder the break pedal will be. You can get 15/16 bore sizes in master cylinders but their aftermarket and you have to use an adapter plates and they have plastic reservoirs which don't look at home under the hoods of our old cars

The larger bore size 1-1/32 makes for less pedal travel and feels "right" on mopar sourced disc conversions in my opinion. Research the bore size before you buy...

The bore sizes on the MCs are for the particular application. In other words, the brake set-up.

Your's is disc/drum, manual brakes. Past that, main thing your looking at is the mounting flange/bolt pattern, to make sure it fits. That's why certain year MCs will fit earlier cars, thanks to Mopar keeping common sizing.

A-1 Cardone: New:13-1627 or Reman: 10-1627

application is 1976 Plymouth Volare with Manual front disk brakes. This WILL work. I have had one in my 65 Fury since the mid 80's and one on my 65 Belvedere since the mid 90's. No problems at all with either car.
I am sure there are other brands/applications but this one will work. I would not hesitate to use one is any similar application. Works great, looks like it came in the car from the factory. Only down side I can think of is that it is difficult to find a chrome cover that fits the top.
I love my manual brakes.
