I am looking for a fuel sending unit for a '76 Cordoba. They are NOT to be had at NAPA, rock auto, o'reilly's, ebay, etc. I hoping someone out there can help me find one.
Thank you,
Chuck (cordoughboy)

I'll see what i can do for you when i get to work on tuesday

Hey
Didnt get a chance yesterday, but here's the results:
there are three sending units available:
small block with federal emissions orig# was 3879013 replaced by 4051145
small block with calif emissions orig # 4026319
big block all emissions original # 3780566 replaced by 4051147
I ran all three through the locator at my dealership, unfortunately no one has one anywhere to be had. every dealership shows zero.
My next question is are you sure you need one? theres many problems that will make you think its the sender.... example bad ground etc. get back to me & i will advise you how to test it

Hey Tony,
I have '76 Cordoba with 400 big block 2 barrel. Yes I am sure I need one. When I put the continuity light to the pos. lead, it blinks, showing me the voltage limiter is working. When I ground the pos. lead, the gas gauge shows full. It has a good ground on the unit, as I cleaned it, and regrounded it. So it looks like I need the 4051147 sending unit. You have found out what I already know. There is not one to be had. Hey, I want to thank you for your time, If you can think of something I overlooked, troubleshooting this, I will be glad to listen.
Again, thank you,
Chuck

Have you removed it yet? they are notorious for 2 things, bad ground , & the brass float rotting out. try making a good ground from the little tube that comes out of the sender to the body, if you still get no response get a new seal, & remove the sender and check the float. I've seen them all over ebay, so they are easy to get

I haven't yanked the unit (hey mind outta the gutter), life is busy. I know I can figure what is wrong with it, once I pull it out of the tank. It just seems wierd, though, NOBODY has these. By this weekend I will pull it out. thank you all
