Ok guys i bought this 64 dodge polara about 9 months ago and is my first older mopar as all other cars I've owned has been 68 and up...anyways I pulled the 67 440 out of it to change oil pan bc its leaky and beat up with steering bar goes through it and to change front seal in transmission. I bought a pan from KMJ performance and put on it lowered motor back in car and it hits steering bar? Soo I'm needing to know what pan I need without having to use that style where steering bar goes through? Without breaking the bank..I'll post some pics..

Milodon 31010 oil pan is made for the 62-65 B Body using a RB. Used one in my 65 Coronet with a 440. No clearance issues. I put a different motor in the car last year that had a different pan and that it was resting on the linkage so much it was bending the pan. From what I hear the 62-65 pan has a shallower rear pan area to eliminate the steering linkage interference.

Ok thanks for the info...

I am having the same problem with my new oil pan. the steering linkage is not bending the pan YET, but scraping off the paint. I don't want to change the pan or spacer the motor mounts. I wonder if the linkage could be heated and bent down a bit? ................................MO

As is mentioned 62-65 b body have a different oil pan and pick up tube. They also have a different k frame than the 66-up. The k frame puts the motor in a different location so that is the reason they have a special oil pan. I ran into this when I installed a 67 383 into the 65 coronet wagon I had. Lucky for me the car was already a big block car so I just used the original 361 oil pan and brackets. I also had to modify the windage tray to make it all work. Hope that helps.

the early b-body big block sits about 1.5" further forward and is angled slightly as compared to a '66 and up.

I have a 1966 coronet and have the same problem.
I have a Milodon on my 1971 440 and it hit my center link in my 1967 coronet and I had the same issue in my 1966 coronet with the same engine.
I called Milodon and they told me the 31010 measured 7 3/4" from rear of pan to rear of sump.
The Milodon I currently have measures 7 1/4". That 1/2" makes the difference, but you must also get #18320 pickup because the 31010 is deeper by 3/4".
It will be here next week, so I hope it works!!!!
