Seemed too easy. Just four 13/16" bolts; removed 3 of them no problem; don't think they were ever taken out before.

One of the rear seat belt bolts won't come out. It is very loose, even toggles back n forth side to side a bit, and I used manual socket and then air tools on it trying to get it to pop out but it spins and spins loosely.

Was hoping the new belts and seats would be back in by now. What should I do? I can use a cut off wheel to cut the bolt but that won't remove the bolt.
Suggestions????

The seat belt bolt broke off, flush with the body. So it is threaded into the body. What do I use to drill it out? I've never done that before.

Drill and tap it. Figure out what size the threads are and find a tap. The tap should say what the drill size needs to be. If not you should be able to find a tap index and drill chart online.

You could also crawl under the car and see if you can get on the other side of the bolt with vise grips and turn it out that way.

Man I wish I saw this earlier....You have to go underneath the car and scrape the gunk off first and spray some PB blaster on them.....

With that aside now....I think trying to drill and extract will not work it is just too tight....So I would drill it out completely and tap it. Use another bolt for reference....

Did you look under car to see if a weld broke so it just turns. Picture a nut weld on under car and the weld broke, so it turns and turns and not loosens?

thanks guys; I checked it out. A case of isolated, massive jerry-rigging!
Someone used the back side of the bolt to help hold the exhaust up with a cheapo fabricated muffler bracket. It had 2 nuts on the underside, and the third nut and thinner bolt spot welded onto the back side of the bolt. Some of it came off in pieces. A whole pile of crap on the driveway. Now it is just the bolt, cut off flush with the interior sheet metal. Do I need to get a special type of drill bit? I have some ryobi bits from home depot, but the bolt is hard steel.

Get a non walking Milwaukee bit and also center punch the bolt also. I also suggest using cutting oil when you preform this to reduce heat and to save your drill bit. Slow and control cutting....

Or use a regular drill bit and a center punch first. Or just start a pilot hole with a small bit and move up in size.

Just get a good bit and don't piss your time away with a cheap bit.....Do you want to spend all day or wham bam done!

Can't you turn it from what's sticking out underneath ? If not, you should use a cobalt bit, if not carbide, to drill the hard steel bolt.

Get a left-handed drill bit...they will catch and usually turn the bolt out with the drill. I spray some wd40 or tri-flow on them first to help lube the threads too
