Need help with dash frame.

Please take a quick look at an installed dash frame in your car.
I'm sure the frame goes inside of the door frame (green tape).
I just want to make sure before I install mine today.
It seems to have grown and will require some adjustment now that I've sandblasted and painted it.
Bending the dash frame sides inboard to clear will be necessary if that is where it goes..
I think I'm buying and putting new rubber all around and having to figure this stuff out.
I anyone has time to take a picture of the are that would be great. I don't have the rubber yet. Do I need a lot of clearance between the frame and car?

Oh. Wow. That explains it being so "wide".
Do I need to wait till I get whatever goes around the door frame lip installed to put the dash frame in.
The frame looks like it would "capture" some kind of seal there on that flange.
Maybe some trim?

I pulled my 66 Coronet apart and I'm pretty darn sure it was the same as my A bodies. I would swear the tabs go inside the car and land on 2 (7/16 or 1/2" heads) bolts that go into the side of the structure of the car. I am away from home or I would shoot pics for you.

My A bodies go inside the door frame too. That's what is throwing me. I'm trying to get the dash frame and steering column in so I'll have a yard driver. I'm now scrambling to find what goes on that door frame lip because if the dash goes on top of it I may have to wait.​

I believe the dash can go in and all other pieces (A-pillar, kick panels, door rubber seal, etc) go on afterwards. It's how they would have had to do it at the factory.

Mine is a 69 bee and goes out. I'm at work and can't take a pic but here is a pic of a 67 Coronet.

I found all the trim. Goes outside
Thanks now I can get the column in tomorrow.

Hint, test fit the A pillar moldings before you put the windshield in and cant adjust the dash frame to make sure it is in far enough to have them line up correctly. Ask me how I learned this the hard way, lol.
