Just in case someone is good at fender tag decoding for 65 and earlier mopars or has one of those books here is the tag info from bottom left

It is from my 64 fury and my restoration for the car depends on if the color and interior are original. The paint i am seeing for the code is chestnut metallic. Not sure on the interior and I know the trans was originally a torqueflite and the car was believed to be an original 361 big block car but i cant figure that out. I know certain things are unknown like some of the options but i am sure the ab with the 04 under it is for the engine code. the c with the 5 under is torqueflite. The g with the 1 under it is am radio i think and j n r v are unknown. If someone has any knowledge on this I would appreciate it.

ab=361 2bbl c=torqueflite g=am radio j=heater/defrost n=backup lights r=l.remote mirror v=sold car

Hope this helps. Len

Thanks a lot rolling thunder I appreciate it. Looks like I am going to keep the original color paint and interior. I like the combo even. Now i need to find a remote mirror for the drivers side. Maybe I will find one at spring fling this weekend as well as a hood ornament with the engine designation on it. The original was off the car when the guy i bought it off of bought it. He put on an emblem with no engine designation. Thanks again. Now I know what i need to get and how I will start restoring this thing.

Additional tidbits:

Your 361 was rated at 265hp with 9.1:1CR.
Your bucket seats had the premium vinyl pattern on them.
Your car was born on June 10, 1964.
It looks like it came from the Lynch Road, MI plant.
Your radio is AM Music Master/Economy

What does v=sold car mean? Like it was ordered and sold that way?

I would think it meant that the car was ordered by a customer and was sold. Not just ordered by the dealer to put on their lot in inventory. Maybe the sold cars got priority in production. :edgy:

Sold cars do get priority over "sales bank" cars, which are just for the lot.

I like it :grin:

True, most had the pushbutton, but what is MORE odd is to see a Sport Fury with buckets, console, AND push buttons. So there's a blank on the console.

I like it! The 1st mopar that I fell in love with as a kid was a 64 sport fury. Guy had it out on the cruise strip back around 85 and I just remember thinking that is one good looking car what is it?

Would you have a picture?

Nice Piece Furyous :wtg:
