I found a hood on ebay and the guy had it listed that he could send it by greyhound. I have heard in the past that this is reasonable so i bid and won. After checking to get me a shipping quote, he emails me to say the size is too big for them (also said he had sent doors and such before). So now i need to find a way to get this from PA ( 17321 ) to NC ( 28792 ) without spending more than a used hood is worth. He did offer to bring it to carlisle next year but i may need it sooner. Ive never ran into this before so any help is appreciated. Thanks Bryan dim 60x60x8 and 75lbs

Have you talked to the ebayer about this problem? Is he willing to figure something out with you or is he saying tuff sssit., I would call ebay and talk with them is he is unwilling to help you figure it out, if it is your responsiblity to get it shipped the its your baby, one of the mopar sites has a trucking or shipping forum. in other words find the forum, put in ned ttrunk of hood hauled for pa to wherever, and see what happens. I believe it a transportation forum on moparts.com.

There is also a "transportation network" on FABO.....although I haven't used it, nor do I know anyone who has.

A long shot, but you never know. Post on craigslist in the town where the hood is located under the services of moving and see if anyone is relocating anywhere near you and if they have any spare room in there truck. I have seen people advertise this way before, even tried it once without luck.

Yeah, shipping it s a beotch, it helps to not think about the shipping costs, if you can justify it in your head, then proceed! But, you need a hood right? Buying new AMD stuff shipping costs are high too.

Yeah shipping sucks but the guy seems ok. Hes not giving me a hard time and said he would hold it while i figure something out. In the ad it stated local pick up, greyhound, or buyer to arrange shipping,. I was fine with greyhound but they wont ship it because of size. So what i'm looking for is the most economic way to get it. The hood is not perfect (im only paying $81) so i can afford to ship but if shipping is like $300 i might as well pay $600 and get a new hood. Ive never had to do this before so do i call fedex or roadway. I might try the craigslist thing but thats kind of iffy sometimes. I have driven over 500 miles away to get stuff before but again if i have to spend to much a used hood may not be worth the effort and expense. Thanks for the replys

I can understand your dilemma. I just drove to PA from the thumb of Michigan for a pair of fenders. My solution? ROAD TRIP BABY!!!!! Grab a buddy , or the wife if you have to, and make a good time out of it! Catch a Steelers or a Penguins game, spend the night, close the bars, do something new, and turn lemons into lemonade! Just remember that its about the journey, not the destination.
