Hi guys I have had an annoying trans leak for a while. I replaced the pan gasket and removed the neutral safety switch to check it out .There was no O ring on the switch .Is there suppose to be one! The trans is in a 1964 Dodge 727 big block automatic on the floor . Thanks for any help .

My 65 didn't have an o-ring, there was a metal gasket/washer (odd shaped) but that was all. It seems like it just seated against the case, and it's not leaking now (transferred to a 1970 trans).

By the way, the 70 trans that I'm using in place of the 65 had the same metal washer on the reverse/ns switch, forgot to mention that as well. It came off of that switch when I was messing with it and that's the only way I knew it was there.
