Does anyone make new 6 cyl. torsion bars for 69 B body? I'm using alum heads, intake, water pump, and borgsen steering so should knock off at least 100 lbs of the nose. Plus I want good weight transfer for the cal-tracs. I have some small block ones but would prefer the /6's

There is zero demand for these.
Okay, maybe one guy in Iowa might want a set. :headbang:

The small block bars should work fine if you can't find the /6 bars especially if your car is in the 11's in the 1/4. Anything faster the lighter bar may hinder you more than the heavier bars. Been there done that......

I agree. The V8 bars can weight transfer just fine and aren't as likely to get "spooky" going through the traps.

My car wasn't spooky going through the traps at all. Matter of fact, it drove very nicely at speed but what the /6 bars did was unwind too fast putting the front tires a good foot into the air and then landing with a bounce which unloaded the rears tires. Different front shocks did the trick but I chased my tail some by making adjustments to the ladder bars and rear shocks. Didn't know if there were double adjustable front shocks back then but started out with 90/10's and those allowed the front end to lift way too fast with /6 bars....especially on a 10.60 car. After going back to the original adjustments to the rear, I had a pair of heavy duty 50/50 shocks hanging on the wall so I threw them on mainly to see what it would do with them and the car liked it so they stayed on. Lousy combination? Probably but it worked and the car was consistent. Had several cars with lousy combinations but so long as they were competitive and consistent I was happy. Made it into the finals many times but I'm the one that usually choked by breaking out or seeing red.

Like Cranky, I too had to switch from the 90/10's to the heavy duty 50/50.Same chasing my tail to figure out what was up.Totally changed the launch racing my 65 Belvedere 1 .Oh yeah, It had the slant six bars.

Good to know. With my '65 Coronet i left the stock T bars (426 W version) in & used the 90/10's. Worked just fine, carried the tires 5 - 6" for about a car length. Real consistent too. That car won plenty of races, the driver(me) was the weak link more often than not.

Thanks guys I'll try the SB bars first.
