New to the boards of course. I bought a 1969 GTX from a buddy while picking up some parts for my 71 RR. I kinda chuckled at it, because it is just sooo beat up. He was talking about maybe parting it out. It looks as though it was used for spectator racing on the dirt track. It was last tagged in 81. The data plate was there, and I liked the options, so here goes.
I plan to get my extra 440 in it, go through the brakes and fuel tank /lines & get it going. The trunk floor and ft & rear pans are bad, but frame rails, torque boxes etc are good. I will redo the interior as well.
The exterior, for the most part, I will leave as-is. I know that's crazy, but it's got a lot of character. It has such a "junkyard fresh" "barn find" or whatever look about it. Heck, I can cosmetically restore it later.
That's the plan!
I really only know the 71-72s so this will be a little new to me.

Thanx for the welcome.

My other cars are:

71 RR 383 4speed manual drum brakes, manual steering, no a/c, bucket seats w/o console, decor package, full vinyl top. Black / white interior.

72 RR 440 automatic power disc brakes, power steering, a/c, bench seat, half vinyl top. Yellow / black interior.

Those cars are kinda opposites of each other!

I'm sure when you start searching out some parts, you'll find the fenders and such and get it straightened out.

Thanks everyone. Still kinda collecting some parts for the 69....got a hood...air grabber style actually. Got a GTX grille today, but without the emblem..so if anyone has one....got hinges too.

Hope to get started on some facet of the project before too long.
