Hello all. Been into street rods, hot rods and muscle cars since the early 60's. Just finished a hemi powered Deuce and I'm now starting on a '64 Dodge Polara.
I'm the second owner of this factory 383 / 4 speed 2 door HT. The car spent itw whole life in Huntsville, Al and is "pretty much" rust free. The original owner kept very meticulous records and I know literally everything about this car since it was new new. Originally ordered from a Dodge dealer in Atlanta, GA it was equipped with an open rear and 2 bbl carb, it has a dealer installed posi unit and 4 bbl intake and AFB.
As you can see I'm working on a complete brake job at the moment. It hasn't run in about 4 years so it needs to have the fuel system flushed out and a new fuel pump before I'll attempt to start it again. The 383 won't stay but we will be moving to Texas next spring and I need to be able to move the car under its own power to get it on and off the trailer.
I do all my own work and fabrication (with the exception of engine machine work) and once we move it will be disassembled in preparation for a full rotisserie restoration. I'll also install upgraded front disk brakes, a warmed over 440, a new interior and dark (almost black) metallic silver paint.
I've been a Mopar guy since I was 16, although I did stray a few times when a Corvette or two "called to me", but I've always come back to my Mopar roots. I've owned this Polara for about 9 years and it has waited for me to finish a hemi powered '53 Chevy pickup, a log home, and finally my deuce (which was a 3 1/2 year build). I'm looking forward to this build and I'll be posting pictures once it gets under way.
Thanks for having me.
