What's up, gentlemen. My name is Aaron Tavenner, I'm 21 years old, and I'm a college student in East Texas. I'm new to FBBO.com but not to internet forums. Let me begin by telling a little about myself...
I first became a MoPar guy when I was 5 years old. My dad owned a T-shirt & graphics design company at the time and he was working a muscle car show so of course I tagged along. His booth was set up next to a '68 medium blue Plymouth Roadrunner and I fell in love.
When I started getting older, baseball and girls had run my life up until I was about 17 when my brother and I were house sitting in Denton, TX. We were in the garage working out when I saw the unmistakable lines of a '70 Charger. I walked over, talked to the owner, and fell in love all over again. I eventually bought a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T (1 of around 350 factory EB7 cars) during my senior year in high school in 2006. It was in rough shape but I got my feet wet... it ended up being too expensive for me, plus I wanted to drive, so I ended up selling it and buying a '67 Chevy pickup with a 4/6 drop and a 462ci BBC under the hood. It was a sweet truck, and I justified the purchase by telling myself "I could build three Chevys for what it would cost to build one MoPar". Well, that may be true, but then you end up with just three Chevys and no MoPar so it had to go!
I now own a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado which I bought in August '07. It's getting sold soon. I also have a '91 Dodge Ram that my dad bought in '93, drove me to elementary/middle school in it, then gave it to me when I turned 16. I'll post pics if anyone's interested, it's a really clean truck.
Anyways, that's me in a nutshell and I look forward to getting to know everyone! I'm here to hopefully score a nice '68-'70 B-body driver to scratch my itch... if anyone is looking to trade for an '04 Silverado, hit me up!
Cheers,
-Aaron
