Hello gents,
I'm a long time Mopar guy, but I'm also into "selected" other cars as well. Such as Corvettes and Cobras. Have had some Vettes in the past and will be building a Factory Five Cobra after my next Mopar project is complete. I've had my share of Mopars too. '64 Barracuda, '69 Roadrunner, 66 Belvedere, '64 Dart, 03 Hemi Ram 4x4 and most recently an '00 V8 Dakota which is a nice little hot rod truck.
I'm currently working on a 32 Ford 3 window (331 Hemi w/3 deuces) but when that is done I'll be starting on my '64 Polara. That's why I'm here.. to soak up as much "B" body info as possible before I start the rotisserie restoration.
I do all my own work.. with the exception of engine machine work and seats so it takes a while to finish projects. I also like to learn how to do something new on each project. On the Deuce it was narrowing a 9" Ford rear... among other things.... but when my projects are done I can take pride in the fact that I did 99% of the work myself.
The Polara is a factory 383 4 speed 2 door HT and I am the second owner. This car spent its entire life in Huntsville, Al so it has minimal rust issues for a car that is 45 years old. I also have all the records for this car all the way back to the original order sheet. The first owner kept everything in a journal and I not only know when he purchased gas and how much he paid for it, but also when the oil was changed, and tune-ups were done for the entire life of the car.
My plan is to do a "restoration" and turn this into a street wedge clone, not a Max Wedge but the single quad version. There are too many Max Wedge clones out there and I like to be different.
Anyway, I'm here to basically be a sponge when it comes to "B" body info so I probably won't post much till the Deuce is done and I get started on the Polara. Thanks for having me.
