I can see it now, pretty soon they will be using NASCAR style Safer Barriers so these boneheads can just bounce off the guardrails and keep right on going. Between that and self driving cars it'll be like bumpercars with no drivers.

Considering most guardrail hits are taking at the end sections why would we want cars traveling farther?

We have had the sand barrels for years.
If the cost per foot of replacement was posted just maybe people would be less apt to hit guard rail as most people think it is replaced at no charge to them untill they hit it and have to pay for it.

They look safer and more functional than the steel ones. Recycled plastic would be my guess. Which sounds cheap - but you're right it isn't.

Can they put them down the middle of the 2 lane roads, maybe that would have saved my buddies charger.

It's gotta be better than this stuff. They are putting it all through MI. I'd be scared to death to be riding a motorcycle by this stuff. There was an accident on a highway near me recently, an SUV went into the center and I believe started to role and went right over the cable and into the oncoming traffic. Killed the drivers of both vehicles.
