Bought a 2400 stall converter and pulled the cap off to install and it looks like coffee grounds in their..... so the original goes back in... 30% of the parts I have gotten have Been junk from sq 1 and 50% have had to be modified to fit... so I have changed focus and decided to go quit buying any thing sight UN seen anymore... it's a about $3000 out of 25,000 which is killing my build.... anyone else notice quality parts are becoming extinct

Coffee grounds? Show us the pictures! Something's not quite right with that. I'd send pictures to Hughs as well. Ask if they sell any clean ones...

No pic and I have had trouble with posting them... I won't give them the satisfaction... every time I buy substandard junk I don't buy it again and chock IT up to learning curve.. my time is more valuable than chasing bunk parts from bunk companies.

I have a 2400rpm 19-spline and a 1800rpm 19-spline from Hughes, no problems and great service!
I just didnt like the hi-stall converter so I bought the 1800rpm.

Contact Pete: pete_n ....u should know the rest of the mail address ;o)

I've had good luck with TCI converters in both Fords and Chryslers. I know they aren't custom built but they work well and they are a good value. I have no idea how they would hold up to racing, but for street machines the ones I've had have been without issues.

I will most likely clean it out with break kleen and waste 5gallons of atf and a new filter when I rebuild the trans again in another 50- 100k mi.... my factory converter is fine it was just something I wanted to try only because I had always had the stock converters and hughs was recommended in the 727 rebuild book by monroe I have... this is the 3rd 727 and I had success rebuilding a c6 with hp books and they were written before most of these companies have moved to China or Mexico
