Hi folks! I have been a long-time member of DC.com and the '70 Charger Registry but have not joined here for some reason. Well, no time like the present!

A little about myself:

I am recently relocated to Central Il. in order to go back to school after being dealt a less-than-favorable life card. I am currently in the middle of a resurrection of a 1970 Charger 500. Originally a 383 2, 727, 8 1/4 black vinyl top, FF4 Light Green paint, F8 dark green interior. Previous owners have done a lot of damage while "fixing" different things. However, the original engine and trans have survived and are still with the car.

I have been spending the past 4 years working on bringing the car back and my plans are as follows:

-Maintain the original 383 but due to prior "repairs" the engine had a bad score done a cylinder and it had to be bored .040 over. Completely new rebuild with hardened 3 degree valve work, cleaning of the heads, new springs, new cam, new pistons, complete fluxed/cleaned and checked block, and it has been designed to run about 450hp/475tq.
-Trans to be completely rebuilt before it goes in the car.
-8 3/4 with 3.73 SG came with the car
-the body has had every piece of rust painstakingly removed and replaced with AMD
-Car will be painted A4 silver, no vinyl top, hood black-out, black tail stripe, black interior
-wheels are15" Cragar D-windows

Any other questions or suggestions, feel free to chime in! I hope to learn and contribute as much as possible here! :hello:

Welcome to FBBO - how about some pics? Sounds like a great project.

Welcome! Awesome project! Don't you just love previous owners?:headbang: or should it be this one?n:banghead:

Pics are good!

Doesn't anyone screen these people??? :poke: Welcome aboard Ted.

Welcome to the Forum!
Great car!
Thanks for joining.

I'd do it the same way you are "cept" I would pull the 383, re-build it and store it safely.
Then I'd build a 440 and disguise it as your original 383!

Welcome from Minnesota. :hello2:

By the way what is DC.com (couldn't find anything from my google search) and I was just curious. Thanks, Al

Oh, there are plenty of pics! I have gigs upon gigs of pics...

Thanks for the warm greeting Hawkeye! :laughing7:

Super-bee_ski, I actually have the same thought! The 383 is already built and broken in. I have had my eyes peeled for a good deal on a 440 locally and if the right opportunity came up, I would definitely do it!

aldal, DC.com is actually dodge charger.com, just abbreviated!

As requested... Some PICS
