Welcome from New Zealand.

Beautiful looking Charger. Good luck with the engine rebuild/swap.

That 383 sure can take a lot of abuse. I don’t hear many stories of them blowing up. My vote is the 383.
And greetings, welcome to FBBO from NY!
And if by chance you’re a dad…
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
If not, pass it on :)

Welcome and nice looking '68, by the way.

Welcome from Illinois!! Great looking Charger! Stroke, Stroke, Stroke . . .

Welcome to FBBO

nice Charger,
Just build the 383, if you just want like 500+ HP
can be easily done if not an all out/or a race motor,
if you don't need every last hp
be just fine, be very respectable too
good rods & good balance, a couple thousand dollars in a decent stroker kit
crank rods bearings pistons rings :blah: all specific for that build
like a basic beginers stroker/entry level but very capable
a 440 crank mains turned down to B block size/counterweights taken down to 7.125",
to fit with no clearance issues & internally ballanced, pref.
or buy/build a
431-437+ (440 crank 3.75" stroke 4.280" 0.030" to 0.060" over bore), Kit form
477-484+ (4.15" stroke 4.280" 0.030" to 0.060" over bore), Kit Form
489-496+ (4.25" stroke 4.280" 0.030" to 0.060" overbore), Kit form
bigger bore you go the more heating problems you could run into
www.440source.com
or www.manciniracing.com

or buy a short-block already done

Or put the factory 383, aside if your worried about #s crap
& build a different B-low-deck, like a 400 low-deck,
they are better blocks/better thicker main webbing
for extreme performance builds

Welcome from NY.

I would find a 400 and stroke that to your liking.
Keep the 383 if it's original fill it with oil.

Welcome from Alabama, love your Charger. Keep and build the 383, especially if it's original to the car.
