Needing advice/comments about the new Mopar 440 Siamese bore blocks. Looking for an engine that is a street car, mainly. Stroke this block? Anyone have one? Considering getting one for my car.

Thanks

How much power are you looking to make and what bore size do you want. There are several different bore sizes offered and of course is priced accordingly....

Cranky:
Looking at between 500 and 600 HP. The P/N p5153944 block I think starts out at 4.31" if I remember. Its not going to be a strip car but a street car. The car has been in the family for 27 yrs now. I'm in the position to restore it. theres only a few things that I am changing on it but mainly as orginal. What are your thoughts?

Thanks

With this in mind, here's my thought: stroke a 400... put some $ into the heads, or go to alum heads... if going to alum heads, bump a little more compression... choose a suitable cam... go whatever intake/exhaust you prefer to maintain/deviate from originality... paint it orange & slap a "383 road runner engine" tin on the air cleaner... looks like an original 383...

I'm with WileE....and finding and building a 400 based engine isn't all that expensive. You're going to spend pretty much the same money getting the new block machined and the stock factory 400 block will take the horse power you're planning on.

Where can I find a 400?

Keep an eye on the classifieds, Craigslist, Racingjunk etc. Where are you located? I have 3 laying around....the last one I got was free even.

Thanks for the replies. After much contemplting, I think I'll be looking for a 400 and stroke it. Now its just looking for one. Has anyone bought stuff from 440source?
