Hi all FBBO members!!! I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share my story of becoming a b-body owner. I live in Billings, MT, I am married with three young children. I have been a "car nut" since I was 15/16 yoa (I am now 40). Over the past 40 years I have owned several hotrods , but not a single Mopar. My step-father lives near the Canadian border and owns a 67 GTO, 2011 Camaro, and a 68 Roadrunner. The cars are all stored inside and are never driven. (he hasn't put 500 miles on the Roadrunner since 1989). Anyhow, recently he asked if I wanted the Roadrunner. I thought about it for a nano-second and replied with an enthusiastic, "YES!!". So in September, I loaded my 8 year old son up and drove up to the border to get the car. (Thinking that when I passed down the car to him, he would remember the trip to retrieve the car) Since September, I have put about 1000 miles on the car---yep doubling what he drove 25 years!!. It is a great driver that needs some tinkering.......which is what led me to this site. I will be asking all of you for advice and direction on the car.

welcome to FBBO

very cool story, about getting your fathers ol' 68 RR {my favorite year}

Welcome from Minnesota....great story.

Welcome from central Illinois - I stopped in Billings a few years ago - that's some beautiful countryside up there!

Welcome!

Sonny thinks that was nice of the old man, :eek:ccasion6:.......& welcome

Welcome, So where near the Border, I am from Glasgow, even closer to the border. Heck, I may even know the old boy.. tks, DanO

DanoMt,

I am certain that you know him. I am from Glasgow also and the car came from Opheim. With the name Dano? Any chance that this is Dan Olsen??

Yes it is!! Small world. I figured out that you are talking about Billy Risa, this must be Chad. Wow you got the runner. I have worked on that a lot. Bill just got rid of the 66 chevelle convertable a little while ago. Put a fuel pump in the pickup the other day. Yep, benn working on that familys rigs for over 40 years. good people....

Glad to hear from you Dan!! If I still lived in that neck of the woods you would be working on the RR some more. You are absolutely right, the Risa family is very good family. Billy first took me for a ride in the RR back in 89/90 (long before he and my mother became a couple), anyhow I fell in love with that car on the very first ride and have wanted it ever since. I am very happy to have it in my garage. Now, time to tinker a bit. Needs new tires/wheels, new stereo, new exhaust, and some basic tuning. Hope all is well with you and your family!

Pictures please!

Welocme aboard, thanks for joining the forum!
Impressive car...congrads1
