I originally posted this in the Dodge Charger section, I didn't realize there was a welcome wagon section. Sorry for the double post.

Hi, all

I'm new to this site. I'm not currently a Mopar owner but would like to be.
Specifically, I'm looking for a 68 to 70 Dodge Charger RT - (isn't everybody)?
I've done quite a bit of looking on the internet and boy, there sure are a lot of scam websites out there.
Can anybody here recommend some legit websites or dealers for my search?
Thanks to all,
Vance

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

I've had a dozen, all mostly R/Ts, 68s & 69s, 8 were 4 speed dana 60 cars
& wish I'd have kept them for retirement account, literally
my 1st car was a 1968 Charger R/T GG1 & black top & guts, I bought for $350,
w/like 68k org. miles, in July 1974, I was the day before I turned 15...
Those day are long gone...

Even a ragged/rusted/clapped out, rusty-*** spaghetti strainer on wheels,
1968-70 gen 2 Charger, rust bucket brings big $$, real R/Ts even 25%+ more
BB w/4 speed/dana 60 add another 25%+,
maybe a 318 base bench seat model may be an option,
they're still not cheap, not now

I will say, I'd stay away from Facebook, scammers galore

I'd look here 1st in the classified, good people here
but people know 'they are worth a lot' too
& nobody sells them really cheap
I'd suggest to buy something as complete as possible
& pref. running as possible, spend more $$ up front,
all the lil' **** ads up fast
& not have to search for "expensive parts, deal with parts gougers/hoarders,
that will $100 to $1,000-$5,000 you to death...

can be easily at times $70k for a real restoration
+ the car purchase price

maybe buy an old racecar, lots of the purists stay away from them
& you may get it a lil' cheaper, than from the resto crowd
maybe try www.racingjunk.com
www.autabuy.com possibly too
good luck

Welcome. Good luck with the search

welcome to FBBO good luck with your search

Thanks to all for the well wishes! I'm taking the first few steps on what could be a long journey!

Save your money and buy the most complete and solid Charger R/T you can afford within your budget. Welcome to the site.

Welcome to FBBO from Ontario. '68-'70 Charger, eh? That is currently at the top of the $$$ heap. I know that styling is subjective, but you could get an underpriced '66-'67 B-body for about half the money. They have the same available powertrains and drive every bit as nice as the newer ones. It's like buying a house; begin with a "starter" house, and gradually work your way up the real estate ladder to your "forever" house.

Welcome aboard Sir, from the birthplace of the Republican Party!

Welcome and good luck on your search. I'd concur with the advice to wait and spend some pretty big bucks on a decent, mostly finished project than to settle on some ratty old, overpriced rustbucket that's gonna cost you a ton of time and money and frustration to restore. Fortunately I got my '70 Charger back in the mid-80's and have acquired almost all the parts I needed to finish the car, back when prices were a LOT cheaper. There's still going to be a ton of frustration, time and money spent... :BangHead:

Welcome from North Carolina. Chargers R/T’s are still out there. Here is a 70 R/T that a friend and I just picked up this morning.
