Because I do not have enough projects to work on....I recently picked up another. I was honestly looking to find a truck for a buddy (to put a 400 big block in) and I found this in eBay. The bid was low...so I "tested the waters" and put in a bid. Well...I wound up winning the auction. Teaches me to play with eBay.

This is a 1977 Dodge M886 Military Ambulance. It's got a romping stomping 318 (2 barrel) in it with a 727 transmission and full time 4WD. Dana 60 rear diff and a Dan 44 front. It starts and runs and drives. I'm currently working on getting it "Missouri" street legal. (I purchased it from someone in Illinois, who has less stringent inspection rules...or so I've been told) The exhaust was shot, so I spent a day ripping out the old system and putting headers on the motor. Now just need to run pipes to a muffler and that should be all for the new exhaust.

Wipers do not work.

But...this truck will go about anywhere. I put it in low-lock and crawled up an 18" retaining wall outside of my house. It was fun. My neighbors were outside watching and giving me a big ole "thumbs up". Good times.

Looks like you added a cool 4x4 project to your collection...

It looks like a cool project. a couple of fold down cots and it will make a great fishing and hunting truck.

Nice truck, had a 78 M880, truck was bullit proof. Plowed snow w/ it for years. In lowloc with the 4.10s the 318 was all the *** it needed! Have fun with it.

Now thats cool there! Looks to be in great shape to, nice find...

That is one cool looking truck.I've always liked that style.Have fun with her.

I had 2 M880's. Look out for melted fuse-boxes, fuel leaks from the top of the tank when full, the 90 degrees of play in the steering wheel! The manual steering in those added 3" to my arms! Some also had a 1-1/4 ton spring-pack in the rear! I'm looking at another military truck right now. A M1009 CUC-V. 1982-88 K-5 Blazer, 6.2 diesel, Dana 44's

nice trucks hurmit4life and scotts74birds, ive always wanted a mopar army truck, being frugal and bored as i am i simply made a tribute with my 74 trailduster. my pic isn't close enough for detail but i made the dummy gun out of a camera tri pod, various vacuum cleaner parts, wooden blocks and a real ammo box and belt. it wouldn't fool a vet or an army equipment fanatic but it scared the crap out of my neighbors LOL
