I just watched a video of this and posted about it ....I was so happy until I read yours..
NHRA is a fickle bieitch, first they were going to ban Mike Murillo and Jeff Lutz for street racing. Now it looks like they are all on board and planning on cashing in riding the coattails of the Street Outlaws gang. Appears that the S.Os ring leader Justin Shearer is out to prove himself on the track & I'm guessing with NHRAs approval and welcoming arms...
is nhra the Al Sharpton of auto racing? The theme with the NHRA seems to be that if someone other than them is making money with the sport of Drag Racing, they do all they can to end it until they get they’re slice of the cash. They no longer exist to promote our sport, they’re mission is to fleece it for every last penny they can. Sad!
Nothing else you can say?? Sometimes the big guys have to adapt a little, that would be a great/scary ride IMHO.As long as they have the proper safety equipment &
the needed insurance covering all parties involved,
than why the **** ? would NHRA care ?
He's promoting the sport, he's a championship driver,
he was NHRA's poster boy for years,
IMO it brings people & sponsors/marketing partners in,
that wouldn't otherwise come at all, it's an experience...
NHRA they are on a death spiral,
pro categories are barely getting full fields, it's hemorrhaging teams drivers sponsors,
it's no longer a fun event to go & watch, very little fun to participate anymore,
fucken' hurry up & wait BS...
IMO a little showmanship helps, putts asses in the seats & on the track,
it promotes the sport & makes the "paying customer & crowds happy"
without them & the 10's of thousands sportsman racers carrying them,
growing the base, getting peoples attention, something good & new,
evolving constantly, than you don't have an NHRA, not for very long...
Wake the **** Up !!
All the NHRA seems to care about is Top Fuel & Funny Car
& the Harleys, favorable rules gimmicks in P/SM &
now the lame *** T/F Harleys, slow junk, what a fucken' joke...
IMO all the door classes, like Pro-Stock & Pro-Mod, Top Sportsman are screwed,
especially on air coverage, if they don't get air time they can't get marketing partners
or in layman's terms "sponsorships"
the NHRA leadership needs to pull their collective fucken' heads
out of their fucken' money grabbing over regulatory asses...
NHRA they are now the Lefty Clinton/Obama/Bernie {whom ever Progressive/Socialist}
of the racing world, it's a sad realism, it's always a kneejerk reaction, to anything,
they think they're KINGS, like the 1000' ft BS, in fuel classes,
instead of fixing the tracks, or the cars to be safe & affordable
& 100 other reasons, seemingly it's always an overreaction to every damn thing...
Everything NHRA revolves around about 40-50 something cars
& coddling to some maybe 30-40 something owners for the fuel
or Harley classes...
They don't give a **** about anyone else...
It's the 100's of thousands NHRA members, racers & fans,
that keep the NHRA afloat, not the few nitro classes or owners...
As much as I do love Funny Car, Pro-Mod, Top Sportsman & Fuel Altereds,
I'd far rather go to a Nostalgia race event anymore,
I'd rather see them run in the hi-5's & be entertained & have fun,
see cars that I can relate too, not the cookie cutter/mega $$$ BS today...
IMO the National Events/NHRA are a fucken' joke today...
If I had any IHRA track anywhere near, unfortunately none within 1000 miles
that I'd say "**** you to NHRA", probably never go again...
I already wrote a short bookNothing else you can say?? Sometimes the big guys have to adapt a little, that would be a great/scary ride IMHO.

Some where in the 70s things were getting out of hand. Toxic fuels, little reguard for safety, cars approaching 200 mph and lack of descent tires.drag racing started as a grass roots auto sport. it's interesting to read a little about the very early post war type racing and some of the evolution to what we have today. anybody here old enough to remember the beginning of professionalizing the sport? somewhere in the 70's, at least in my area, there was a fork in the road. two paths; professionals and bracket racers. I don't care for either so I just drifted away from it.
