Nitrous Ignition Retard Setup question

I've been doing a lot of reading on installing a nitrous plate setup on my street-strip Coronet. It will be a 150 shot plate system and would like to have a ignition retard option to retard timing when the nitrous is activated. What kind of set up are you guys using? I've been looking at the MSD Digital 6 plus box. Wondering if there is a better or cheaper option out there that works with my Mopar electronic ignition.

I'm running a MSD 6AL, multi-step retard & 2-step (fyi). You can do what you want with just the basic MSD 6A & any retard box (you only need 1 retard really unless you're running multiple stages of nitrous).

All I've done is wire in "step #1 retard" as 2-degrees and it's wired into the nitrous activation circuit. The green & purple wires from the retard box go to the distributor & the yellow retard box wires connects to the MSD ignition box's white wire (normally not used), fyi.

On a related note....you DON'T want to run lean with nitrous oxide, so it is critical that you have a big enough fuel pump to supply the engine + nitrous system at wide open throttle.

I added an MSD 8680 timing controller to the MSD 6A unit I have on a Chevy II with 150 hp plate system.
