I have no brake lights. Everything else works fine - Dash lights, hazards, turn signals, tail-lights, reverse lights, dome light - ALL work. Just no brake lights!

I’ve already replaced:
- brake light switch
- turn signal switch
- new brake light fuse
- and check all bulbs. (All good)

Still no brake lights! I’m stumped!! Don’t know what else to do?

HELP!!!

I'm guessing you have a 68 Charger. Since your hazards work it sounds like it might be from the brakes light switch to the turn signal mechanism area. With your test light, check for battery on the pink wire at the brake light switch. If you have voltage there, depress the brake and check the other side of the switch (white wire). If you have voltage there, check the other end of the white wire on pin 7 of the directional signal switch connector. It's a place to start.

Thank you “shorthorse.”

Yes,... it is a 68 General Lee.

I am getting power thru the brake pedal switch (it is also a new switch) but .... I haven’t checked the lead going up to the turn signal switch (which is also brand new).

I have another “new” turn signal switch with the complete wiring harness going down the steering column. I haven’t install that yet,.... because I replaced just the turn signal switch by itself already.

Maybe I need to replace the complete switch with the new wiring harness???

I appreciate all the help. I’m new here to the forum & I just got the “General” a short time ago.

SOLVED!!!

There was a bad connection from the brake pedal switch up to the steering column.

The wire had been extended from the pedal to the column (too short to go all the way) and the connection was bad at the extension where the lead to the steering column came together.

THANK YOU for all the help!!! This forum is awesome!!!
