No fire

So I was tring to get my Charger running last night at first it would turn over until I let off the ignition and then it would just click, so I let the battery charger do it's thing for a few minutes and try again same thing turn over then click. Then I tried to jump start it, it turned over then completly quit and now even though the battery charger says the battery has a 100% charge there is no fire the ignition does nothing and every other electrical thing is dead too. Any ideas?

i would check the leads that come off the starter... maybe jump them with a screwdriver..

how old is the battery? sometimes can show good volts, but still have a bad cell(s) with not enough amps to do anything. did try to replace the battery with another one??? as stated check terminals,grounds etc...

You may have some bad connections at the bulkhead connector or maybe the starter relay. Maybe the starter relay is bad. To verify the starter works you can run a hot wire directly to the solenoid and see if it cranks over.

I agree...Start with the obvious first, then go spark chasing.

Ok some progress I guess. I switched the battery with another I had in the garage and I got it to click a few times, then it went dead again. So I played with the positive battery cable and eventually got it turning over again but the positive cable is getting very hot and even smoking a bit. So is that a simple change of the cable or something deeper and why won't the damn thing start I poured a shot of premium in the Carb what else can I do?
