We haven’t had one in quite a while, which is pretty much the norm here.

No visitors from Delaware this year?

Our local weather guy says,

"Christmas 2023 could be America's warmest and least snow-covered in at least two decades. Daily snow cover extent over N America is comfortably breaking record lows at the moment. The snowless ground also extends into Canada from the prairie provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan eastward into southern Ontario. Taking that into account, it's the least snow cover in North America for this time of year since at least 2005, as proclaimed by Eric Webb, a government meteorologist. Webb also noted this snow cover extent was more typical of early April, than around Christmas".

It rarely snows here.....and well, I'm glad of that! Way too many idiot drivers here from all over the world that can't drive on dry roads let alone icy and wet ones.

I'd consider it a blessing, given what I know of driving experiences in MA.

I've seen enough snow in my lifetime, I don't need Christmas to be white to enjoy it. Actually I can say with confidence that I would rather never see snow again, except for maybe on a mountain peak.

Great, the whole white Christmas thing is overrated! If I don't have to go to work and shovel and plow, and they aren't dumping vehicle eating salt on the roads I consider this a win!

Our ground is just barely White here still. It's freezing rain currently and turning to rain as it's currently 2C, then 5C tomorrow and 7C for Christmas Day. Rain and 8C for Tuesday and Wednesday. That should make it green again..

I'm not complaining, many years I've plowed over 13 feet of snowfall by now, this Fall I've plowed 4" once and this week I "rolled" the 3" in the laneway with my truck tires to make a hard base.

Problem is when you've been doing a White Christmas for 60 years green just doesn't feel right. Wife and I did Christmas in Grenada one year with our kids and it was pretty damn boring.. lol

Yep was +5c here yesterday , normally -30 and snowbanks everywhere.

My parents had a pond in their back yard and when we moved there back in 1974, we would be skating shortly after Thanksgiving.

No chance here in the motor city this year, I guess grandkids and I will do mini bike rides instead of sledding

Central Iowa, 50 degrees and foggy, rain tomarrow ( we need it ) and 40s,
It's been warm and dry here for December.
Rivers are low, I will be glad to see snow or rain.

At 5100 ft elevation, one would think I would have snow here but not!!! The Eastern slope of the Sierra though does have quite a bit of snow on top which I can see daily if not low clouds and overcast like today. The worst weather so far was yesterday as I woke to what is known as Ice Fog and Zero Zero visibility. Burned off around 10:30 and a really bright sun for the rest of the day. That is good for my now up-and-running Solar Batter backup system which came online on Wednesday so now when the power goes out, I can still function and support my health needs...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

Grew up until 12 in Massachusetts and missed the snow after moving to Texas but it didn't take too long to get used to no snow lol. Also missed ice skating but there was an indoor rink not too far away but....no hockey skates and that's what I learned to skate with. Was doing ok until a tooth dug into the ice and put me down hard. Got up and skated off the rink and took those damn things off and that was the last time to skate.....35 years ago at least.

Is the Boston Mayor still throwing that party? How long does it last?
:poke:

Never get a white Christmas here in the north of New Zealand.....but wife and I had a few while living in England.

It was quite the novelty for us. I have to admit that it is easier to eat that hot meal in the dead of winter than it is in the heat of summer.
