How have you done your hood scoops on your 71's ?

I can't afford an air grabber scoop, and looking for options... I have a Road Runner

It's a 72 but would look good on 71 too..

My only suggestion is that you cut a Satellite hood, not a Roadrunner hood. It'll be easier with a flat hood to add your own scoop + you won't cut up a valuable hood. Just find a flat hood & pick a scoop you like the looks of & go from there. Unless you have a hood clearance issue (e.g. tunnel ram or roots blower) you can just pick what you like.

what kind of hood do you have?
its hard to just guess what you need..

I think you can buy a repro air grabber to install on a Satellite hood. Just have to cut out the opening, I believe. Maybe someone who's done it can offer tips on the install ?

I always liked the pro stock style. I used 3M dual tube adhesive. Wanted the air grabber style

Well... you wouldn't be the first guy to put a 73-74 power bulge hood on a 71-72 car. :)

I'm sure I'm not. I needed clearance and I always liked the way it looked. It's actually not a power bulge scoop, it is a smaller pro stock. The earlier version, before the flat front bottom. A buddy of mine had a full fiberglass liftoff on a white 70 RT/ SE 440 6 pack in the seventies. That was a monster, we pulled the six pack and had a dual quad tunnel ram. I'm guessing somewhere around 500 HP of course it wasn't stock. Also had a 69 HEMI for the strip mid to upper 10s. If only we knew then...
