Do you have the fender tag? That will help you a lot.
The one photo you can see a series of boxes labeled "57"
The pre=printed build sheet 2 boxes to the right (you can't see the number preprinted) but you can see a "9 inserted" below the ripped section.
That Box pre-printed would be "579 Undercoat and Under hood Pad" The 9 inserted below that indicates that the car had that installed.

Fender tag is so rusty there isn’t left legible. Hoping to find another sheet in the car but doubtful. It’s a 68 post with factory A/C and a four speed though.

Build sheet may or may not be for that car. Build sheets find themselves in other vehicles, alone or with other build sheet(s), any of which may or may not be for that car. What are your plans for the car ?
I am just gonna restore it and enjoy it. Not aiming to sell it or anything.
That's a cool car (no pun intended). I guess that A/C 68 Road Runners are quite rare, but I would also bet most of the 68 Road Runners with A/C are automatics.

Your 1968 car is not B5 blue. That color started in 1969. The paint code for 1968 is QQ1.
Try removing the fender tag and reading the bottom side of it. Many times it’s not as rusty and you can make out the codes.

Thanks. I assumed it was B5 but it is sure a gorgeous shade of blue inside the trunk. Seems brighter and deeper than a B5. Fender tag is legit just pieces of rust scale. It’s that bad. It looks to me someone decided to sit a battery on top of it at some point. It’s toast.
What does that code mean though?
I'm not sure 711 is an engine.
I know based on my build sheet (nearly complete) my 383 '68 RR built March 22, '68.
In the second line for engine code is "62" and on the bottom of the sheet under build code for engine it's "760"

Also mine is a Lynch Rd build sheet.
711 could be for LA or St. Louis Build sheet, I don't know.

The 711 is an engine assembly number. The actual engine assembly a car received was contingent on a particular body style or model, whether it was an automatic or manual transmission and whether the car had A/C or not.
The 760 assembly indicates 68 B body 383-4bbl 335 horse engine with manual transmission and non a/c. A 383-4bbl 335 horse with an automatic transmission and no a/c will show 761.
A 68 B body 383-4 330 horse assembly with automatic and a/c shows 710. A car with a manual transmission and a/c would have another number. The same assembly number is used across all plants.
A and C body 383s have differently assembly numbers as they are different applications. All variations of body, transmission and a/c have an assembly number listed on the broadcast sheet.
I don't have a sheet with 711 on file so I don't know what assembly that is.

Thank you so much for this info. So if a 68 383 with an auto and A/C is a 710 the 711 should maybe be the 383 manual with A/C considering the non-A/C car numbers are only one number off. I think I am going to get in touch with Dave Wise and try to put his knowledge to work on this. Again, thanks a bunch.
