Hey all, I joined up on this site many years ago but have been dormant for too long. I’ve had my 68 charger for 13 years now and working on it steadily ever since. It’s nearly ready for the road and hoping to show it off a good bit. I’ll have to throw up as build thread to just to catch everyone up, it’s been a long long journey. As the title suggests, this car is not for the purists and I fully expect mixed reactions. Some quick details are it’s a 68 charger, 69 charger 500/coronet grill, 2009 5.7 hemi, dry sump oil system, 180 degree headers, T56 6 speed manual, custom built by me all wheel drive step, 4.56 gears, Vi-King berserker computer controlled suspension, coil overs at each corner are on a push rod setup, all steel wide body setup to cover the 325 tires at all four corners on 18x10 wheels, 14 inch front brakes and 12s in the rear. It’s coming together a lot now, most glass is in and trim is nearly all on. Currently working on polishing the paint and getting the interior worked out. A set of hellcat Charger seats are going inside with a custom center console.

Welcome from Missouri!! Very nice and I get it!!

Wow, talk about having all the modern amenities on one of the best bodies history ever produced. And the gift of creativity you have there? Holy smokes. Best I can do is fix something that someone else already made. And even then I often need help! Congratulations on being able to see the finish line with that project. That really is amazing. The consolidation of a few generations older and newer. Nice job and welcome back to the site!

Welcome and good for you on not doing another boring ride.

Welcome from New Zealand to you @Motorcitydak

With that combination and custom body, you should be good to go in the Pikes Peak Hillclimb.

Looks like a fun project. Would love to see more info on 180 deg headers and suspension set up!

Greetings (back again) from northern Michigan.

That's soooooo last year.....

Can't wait to see the final result. Already looking mean even before it's done. Gonna turn a lot of heads no matter where you go.

Welcome back from the great white north of Canada!

I look forward to the build thread...lots to see and comprehend on this unique build.

Thanks all! I snapped a few pics of its current state. The headers are hard to show since everything is crammed in there. The suspension and headers were strictly a function of the amount of real estate not available otherwise. The headers had to route to the drivers side since the passenger side is taken up by the front driveshaft and differential. The suspension had to be done because of the front cv shafts taking up space in between the control arms. In the rear I needed the push rods to fit between the frame rails and the wheel wells.

In the pictures, I’m still working a lot of polishing the paint so I have compound pretty much everywhere!!

I think I popped a blood vessel in my eyes trying to take in all that genius (or is it insanity?) but, but, but where's the wiper fluid reservoir?
