Not the best week ever........

Two weeks back I had three close family members die within four days.... completely unexpectedly!! Not the best week ever. My mother in law went first. She was 88 but had just got out of hospital and was cured of one thing.....to suddenly drop dead of something completely different. My wife is in pieces as you can imagine and her father only died 2 months before....neither from COVID. Very next day my mums brother (my Uncle obviously) dropped dead in his flat.....not found for two days unfortunately...suspected heart attack....he was 80 and liked his Scotch and cigars though. Two days after that my 51 year old brother in law (my sisters husband of 30 years) died. He was diagnosed with liver cancer (with secondary's in his kidneys and brain about three weeks before that....and told he wont get far beyond Christmas)...didn't make a month. He left my sister and three kids wondering whether they will lose their home as he was the main breadwinner.
I guess the reason for writing this is just to say that you should live everyday as if it was your last......as you never can be sure when you will be ******* right!!!

Lost three cats in the past 10 months and my mom's sister and her husband both died of covid 2 weeks ago, 1 day apart.

I'm sorry for your loss!! I get it and have no answers to make it better for any of us. I was told life has no guaranties, that doesn't keep our hearts from breaking.

My condolences to you and your wife for your losses. You are 100% correct about enjoying each day with your friends and family.

I work for a very large corporation but my team consists of 7 individuals who have all worked together for over 10 years. In 2018 we lost 3 guys. 2 of them diagnosed with lung cancer with a few weeks of each other and both passed away a year later. 58 and 60 years old. Then the same year one guy didn’t show up to work (out of character) so another coworker went to his house to check on him. Found him in his recliner with the TV on, dead at 41.
Crazy stuff, you never know, so live it up and enjoy life.

When you wake up in the morning treat the day as your last, love those that mean the most to you even more. Those who you have ignored or have held petty feelings against ask if it’s really worth it. When you lay your head on your pillow each night think about what would have not only made your day better but also those who you touched during the day and try to make your next day better.
I am very sorry for your loss, you never get over it, you never forget them.

Sorry to hear all that. That for sure is alot to have happen all at once.
I hope in time your wife gets to feeling a little better and the sad days are less.

My sympathies to you & family. Seems like bad things happen in clusters or seems this way (my mother used to say these tragic things come in 'three's'). Who knows? A close friend of mine, always a health nut, and five years my junior, used to kid about a saying he heard from a friend of his "Nobody get's out alive." Well, we worked and traveled together for biz when we were with the same company for over 20 years then we used to get together every few weeks for a couple beers and chat. Less than a week later, after what would be our last get together, I get a phone call from a mutual friend asking if "I heard the news". He had the 'widow maker' heart attack when he got home after a round of golf. He was just 50 years old. It's been 10 years now and I still have recurring dreams about all the times we had spent together...think it must be some sort of survivor syndrome thing.
