I have a 1968 440 hi per trans # 2801541 in my 69 runner. it has the single post nss init now my runners wiring harnes is set for the 3 prong style with reverse lihgt hook up. i do not have reverse lights now and want to fix. Can u put a 69 wiper on the 68 detent lever to make the 3 prong style switch work properly?? or will i have to buy the 1968 style that connects to the steering column?? (dose the 69 have a place for a 68 nss reverse light switch on the steering column??

How about change your neutral safety switch? $11 bucks at summit or local part store..In your scenario, you'd need the the back up switch either in the column or in the console shifter

After PM'ing 69Ronrunner and digging a little deeper into the '68 tranny, the rooster comb (Detent arm) needs to be swapped out of the tranny to use the 3 pin switch.

Ah yeah the ole 68 tranny in a 69 trick don't ya just hate that?
