Got this in a parts deal.
Not sure what it came out of but according to some research, it appears to be a factory installed Hurst Competition/Plus shifter mechanism with the slip in style round handle.
The numbers on the box are 0310543M. Pat. No. 3216274 and 3138.
Trying to get the handle out to get the numbers on the bottom to find out for sure what it came out of but could be late 60's Camaro, maybe GTO.
The plate on the bottom is missing. There's some kind of makeshift backwoods "grip" somebody put on way back when. One of the detents in handle opening has been dislodged and can be moved around with a pick as seen in pic 8 in the top hole.
Asking $100 obo + shipping from 31750.
Paypal F&F preferred.
Thanks, FBBO.

Handle looks the same or very similar to a 68/69 b body handle. I guess the only way to verify would be to pull the handle and see the numbers on the bottom. Use cheap feeler guages if you want to get it out.

I've got it soaking in some WD40 now. Tried sticking the feeler gauge in to pop it out and it only goes down maybe 1/2" then stops. Thing is jammed in pretty good. Found a similar one on ebay but they don't mention what it came out of either.
Few other links where that PN is mentioned.
I'd really like to get the handle out to know what it came out of for sure myself.

Okay, got some answers.
Handle out and grip off with pics.
Handle #4555 seems to be a factory installed Hurst shifter for a 70-72 GTO / Lemans or 69-71 Grand Prix and muncie transmission.
Don't know what the "J" stamp means.
People have said the 0310543M is the date code which would be March 1971.
Last 2 pictures showing the missing rivet/detent.
