oil pick up tube

How does one get the oil pick up tube out after the pan has been removed. (68 383 RR motor)

Screws out , Pipe threads.

It unscrews out counterclockwise and I hope you ate your Wheaties because it may not want to come out that easy.
At least mine didn't.
DO NOT put a pipe wrench on it because you might eggshape it if you do.

Boy were you guys right about that friggin thing coming out hard. Luckily I'm gettin the block ready for the shop and I was able to stand it on it's end. I can't imagine getting it out laying my back. Thanks
