megan-fox-3.jpgI bought this car about 10 years ago with about 20K miles on it. It has 40K on it now. What made it special to me was it was the last of the LT1 style SS (They made them in 1996 qnd 1997 in small numbers.) Camaros which I liked better than the LS1 1998 to 2002 Camaros. Mine as built as a fully loaded Z28 t-tops 6 speed without the badges then sent to SLP Street Legal Performance to be changed into a SS. It had everything SLP could do it. Torsen locking differential, Hurst short throw shifter, 17 ZR1 wheels and Z rated tires plus an extra set of wheels for racing. Bilstein Level 2 suspension changes all around. Twin cats and a cat back exhaust, Functional hood scoop, Revised rear spoiler. Revised faster rack and pinion steering. SS call outs on dash wheels floor mats and car cover. The only thing I didn't get is the white and orange anniversary package. mine is red and black. the orange was a little too much at the time. I'm sure I'm forgetting something I always do. Gray leather, 12 disc cd changer in the trunk stock. EVERYTHING IS STOCK!!! Perfect.Intecopy.jpgSmokeinter.jpg Like I said it's tight as a drum. The only trick is getting it not spin at the launch.

Got no problem with that. I've looked at em myself as a reasonably priced daily driver with some giddyup. You get a lot for your money with the F bodies, even without all the SLP goodies.

No hate here. I prefer Firebirds, but like the f bodies in general. I remember when the local dealer had about a dozen of those white and orange anniversary models...was it really that long ago? :)

I like that body style a lot better than the latest one, which i think really missed the boat.

I know little about Cameros escept my pal has a 67 Butternut that is close to Y2. My ex bought one new in 78. POS. Rusted out, no power and doors rattled after the door "pull broke off. 305 2 barrel embarrasment. A friend has the gen of which you speak. Nice, good power. Back seat is clastro, and the chin deflector scrapes a lot.

I hate all Camaros, so hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. :) That being said, you better hold onto that car as prices on them are going to be going up the way the prices on our Mopars went up as folks who were kids when these cars were hot get enough expendable income to get the car they always dreamed of as a kid.

I suspect that in another ten years or so, you'll see the prices on these cars being higher than those on 70s muscle cars.

The bucket list drive was getting a little sidetracked by people hating on the Camaro that filmed the drive from Las Vegas to Denver. I was defending Camaros so rather than that thread getting messed up I said I would create a new one for Camaro haters. The girl. A professional photographer wanted to take pictures of my cars and she asked if she could bring a model. I sad, 'Ah.....no problem!" I thought this would be very magnanimous of me.

Some may have not have noticed I added one more Camaro picture to my original post. Megan Fox checking under the hood of a 1977 Camaro. But while my mind is fluttering with images on of nature's truly wonderous creations I had to note this shot. I had a copy of Transformers Dark of the Moon and somehow lost it. I bought another copy and this lead up scene to Megan Fox's character was edited out.

I went to HS with the son of a Chevy Dealer so I pretty much had my use of just about any Chevy Muscle car to drive. I'm talking in the 60's mind you and even back then I just wasn't impressed with any of the Bow Tie offerings. OK...They would scoot with an attitude, but again they just never floated my boat. Even today I do not like anything Chevy. Right now they have bigger problems with that Marquee due to cooking the books on their tech side and avoiding a recall for their ignition switch. The GM marquees that are not around any more...Pontiac, Buick Muscle, and Olds were much better than a "FREAKIN"" Chevy every will be. For me I don't really care what one wants to buy and drive. Its all about choice is it not. But the Bow Tie crowd just makes me want to :puke:. This new generation of Camero is the most awful looking design I have ever seen. It's my opinion I know but you will never be able to sway me in the direction of Generic Motors of Government Motors cars....:sideways tongue:. I'd rather drive a Fiat!!!!:headbang:

I bought my now 18 yr old son a one owner unmodified 1994 Z28 with 105,000 miles for his first car a few years ago. While the LT-1 engine and trans is okay the plastic interior pieces seems kind of cheap when compared to my 93 cobra. I had to replace a power window a power seat switch and fuel pump which was a pain in the *** to replace. The switches are cheap plastic. I don't really like how the car drives and I don't like the seating position. Would I want one, no but my son seems happy with it and so far it hasn't needed any major repairs. It actually gets decent gas mileage.

I've had a few gen 1, 2 & 3 Camaro race cars, had a 78 Z28 as my DD, a 68 375hp 396 car, right after HS, my last Pro quality Doorslammer Racecar was 2000 Trans Am, just a re-bodied {89 Camaro Pro-Mod/Top Sportsman} with a Harry's Glass Carbon Fiber version, my DD was a 1994 25th Ann. Trans Am, no 4th gen Camaros thou, but other similar cars, they actually were decent cars for the era, there really was not much to choose from back then, I had a few of the SLP Firehawks a 93 95 97 99 too, poor mans-vette, a nice perk working for/with an Automotive Dealership group, I got them as a highly discounted lease, basically free demos, just a car for carrying around my golf clubs mostly, from course to course...LOL...

Love it. After college ('97) I thought real hard about picking up a Paxton modified Camaro from their facility in SoCal and driving it home to NJ.

They are like Mosquitoes, pesky, a million of them, itchy, irritating, and they all look alike.
Only the women that drive them, BITE!

:laughing4:

oh ,and by the way they die early!
