Ok, this is starting to piss me off.... Torsion bar clocking wrong?

I bought a new set of .96 Mopar Performance torsion bars from summit.

I removed the old bar (which was bent) from the passenger side and am installing the new R bar but it looks like the LCA needs to drop another 1" for the clocking to line up!

I have the adjuster bolt all the way out and the bump stop removed...what am I doing wrong? is it possible the clocking it that far off?

Never mind, I'm an idiot... The torsion bar adjuster was backed out but the hex stayed in the same place, which I'm assuming is just the lca pivot shaft bushing holding it up. I didn't think I would need to loosen the pivot shaft nut, but looks like I must in order for it to line up.
 
Another update... the LCA pivot shaft was the key. Loosen the nut which allowed the hex to rotate and the bar slid in freely by hand.

No idea why the FSM doesn't mention this, but I don't see how I could have done it otherwise.

THANK YOU, Gear Addict. At least you had the courtesy to come back and tell us all how you solved it. I personally hate it when someone posts a problem, then works it out, only to return and say.."never mind, its all good"..and never tell us the solution.

When you loosened the nut, did the shaft turn on its own or did you have to "convince" it a little? I have been told to set your ride height , have full weight on the suspension, and then tighten the nut down. That assures that the rubber ( or ply) bushing does not have a pre- load on it.......................MO

I had to put some slight pressure on the top of the torsion bar adjust arm.

I had just redone my front end recently (and neglected the torsion bars) and did exactly what you just said before tightening the nut on the LCA pivot. It avoids a pre-load on the bushing, since it's tightened at ride height but when you now have the suspension at full droop and the hex opening on the LCA wants to return to it's clocking at the ride height position.... unless of course you just loosen the damn nut!

Oh and if you have poly bushings, this is probably a non-issue since the poly is not bonded to the inner and outer sleeves, which would allow it to rotate freely without loosening the Pivot Shaft nut.
