Loved that era too, when F/C & racecars in general, all had names &
there were still a bunch of independents/low buck working stiffs, running teams,
still racing in T/F & F/C,
before it became multi million cubic dollar super sponsors & teams, like today...
I remember going to Ontario or Orange Co. International, Irwindale, Lions/SoCal area {like different 10 tracks} or NorCal Fremont or Sacramento, Lodi, Halfmoon Bay, Sears Point etc. & seeing a 32-64 F/C field & 32 T/F or F/C Cackle-fests,
Fuel Altered's was my thing...
when racing was dangerous & sex was {somewhat} still safe...LOL

remember all the dry hops & extra burnouts
or really long burnouts, a show for the fans for sure,
that's a big part of what lacking today,
the showmanship excitement factor/effect etc.
