Been Mopar all my life. Started with my first car a 1957 Chrysler New Yorker I got in 1967. Got lucky and in 1970 I found a brand new (36 miles) 69 Charger Daytona at Van Ness Dodge in San Francisco. I still have the old girl and having lots of fun with her. Thanks for the site. Jim

Welcome to the site, let's see some pictures
I'm a huge wing car fan .

Hi Daytona Jim, sounds like you've got some stories to tell us!
Welcome:wav:

Welcome from MI. Let's see some pics of that winged machine.

As requested

Welcome, Jim! I'm primarily an A-body guy but absolutely love the wing cars, especially the Daytona's since I've always been more Dodge oriented. My first Mopar was a '69 340 Swinger that was just a couple of months old when I picked it up.
How about doing a bit of a road trip and bring that "Charger Red" beauty to our "Mopars In May At CSDR" charity-benefit car show in SoCal next May? Or your '63 Max Wedge convertible if it's ready? Or both?
We'd love to have more representation from NorCal - especially a Daytona.
PM me if you may be interested and I'll forward more info.
Anxious to see more pics of both!
Oh yeah, none of us are "old" - we're "experienced"!

Welcome to FBBO from a fellow NorCal guy, born & raised here...

love the Daytona too

Awesome! I like the 'bringing it home' picture. I took out some speckles...

Welcome, Jim - great car and story!

I used to work with Gil Grisham he was my lead technician. He always told me the story of Jims 69 Daytona. I always believed him. Now I see proof in pictures.

Great score on the 63 as well. does Gil know about it?

Hey Jim I just talked to Gil Grisham he says he is out there visiting you. Small world. He also said you located the original heads and block and that the car is cleaning up to be AWESOME!!

He also said they only made 6 black convertible max wedge cars and only one with blue interior???

WOW

GREAT NEWS!
