I leave at 7:00 in the morning to pick up my 63 Dodge 440 in Ajax, Canada.
The car was purchased by a gentleman there in 2006 from Bob West in Texas and had plans on building a Max Wedge car. Close to retirement now and with other interests he put it up for sale and I was able to purchase it. It has spent its years in Canada in a heated garage but in the meantime was gone over by his mechanic who rebuilt or replaced just about everything. The car was registered, inspected and enjoyed on limited select sunny warm days which according to the mechanic would be very few.
The mechanic was instructed to go to the garage and start the car each week and warm it up and drive it around the block which he has done now for going on 5 years. I will post photos sometime this weekend....

Sounds good - have a safe trip. We'll look forward to seeing the pics!

have a good and careful drive. toot the horn going through belleville and i will
watch for you.

Sorry to hear that a nice MOPAR is leaving Canada... but I assume it is going to a good home...if not... be warned... Canadians have the right to confiscate abused and neglected '63 Dodges. I won't mention that last Spring I brought a '68 AMX from York Pennsylvania to Scarborough Ontario Canada.... oops! Did I type that out loud?
David :eek:ops:

Long day!!!!

Today was a great day to tow EXCEPT for the wind and border crossings Made it home late this evening without a scratch and I need to say that the car is very straight, no body work, no floor patches and the 383 hauls the mail.

Nice car, well worth the drive. How did that U-haul trailor tow? I have one experience with them and it was white knuckle all the way, it had me all over the road.
Looking forward to more pics of the `63.

Yes I agree............nice 63. Looks like a nice coat of wax and a buffer and that baby will shine. Good luck with it.

It will need interior work and the engine bay is a nightmare...but it does run and strong. With the addition of a cam, heads, intake and some better exhaust and a little deeper gear it should be good to go. I have already ordered repair kits for the door hinges and will start searching for interior parts, new seals for windows and doors and several other items. I think that in the end I will finish in in black with a red interior, steel rims with dog dish hub caps and no scoop.
I towed it home with a 2002 Durango with a 4.7 and other than the strong winds it was a breeze...no pun intended!

Nice '63!

I towed my Belvedere home to WI from FL on a U-Haul trailer. No problems.

Nice catch! Toss the bling bling wheels and mount some cool steelies with hubcaps! That whould really make it look tough! Have fun with it!!
