Yes it is. Hopeing to get this beast around 3100 course have a lot more light stuff to buy but piece by piece.

our rides have tons of extra metal that can be removed for lightening.looks like you are well on your way.

Yea tell me about it lol already have the glass doors waiting to get the front end clip trunk and hood then save up for the cage but prepeing everything for it.

glassing the fenders, hood, trunk, and doors.lexan the windows.pull the heater box and rear seat.that should get you real close,if not lighter, then your goal.

Yea I was planning on lexan windows as well heater box has been long gone, the spec cage I'm going with I wouldn't be able to fit it in anyways :). The cage will be chromemoly, if I can get it lighter then my goal all the more better just means I would be able to keep boost lower

Don't forget fiberglass or carbon fiber bumpers too... lighter mounting hardware & aluminum bumper brackets, even some titanium bolts, tubular front suspension & K-frame, rack in pinion steering, replace steel brackets with aluminum, aluminum pulleys replacing steel, aluminum heads, alum. water-pump housing, alum. radiator, alum. rear axle carrier alum. or chrome molly driveshaft, lighter wheels & tires, every little bit helps, it's all about power to weight ratios....

The steering column is chris alstons shipped its $528. Bumpers will also be glass and ill fab up my own mounts to work since the factoey ones for these cars are a beast on weight. Titanium bolts or some aluminum ones not sure yet. Front suspension will be handles by rms the alterkation k member. Ill be going with a lot of aluminum stuff on the engine along with elephant ears, strange 60 just going with a locker instead of spool for a little better street manners lol

Sounds like a man with a good plan....

Did you tub the rear? What rear suspension set up, 4 link?

Havent done the cage or suspension yet its what I'm planning on. Its gonna be tubbed and a 4 link with coil over. Just getting the beast up and running for now then save and get the rest like the cage. Already running the new wiring for the car, little more fab work for brackets and getting new sockets for the bulbs. Just will be happy to start the current motor up always something needs bought for something else I did, such as it is with these cars.

I am doing the rear suspension and body work this summer, hope to be ready for paint fall/winter. I'm leaning towards ladder bar coil over without tubbing, thinking 315/50r/15s Would like to get Alterkation front, but might do drive train then add later. Know
What you mean about just getting it running. I could use some motorvation myself.

I keep thinking of ditching my plan and rebuild stock suspension with stock 440 and make a driver car, but too much is missing so its either pricey performance parts, or massive quantities of factory replacement parts...Lots of money either way with only couple more years to go til I can finally drive the damned thing!

Will be cool to see your car come together. Should be a monster! Be sure to show what you come up with for front bumper brackets.

Well my current motor is built and in the car need to do the fuel system and measrre and order a driveshaft. With a mini tub you can get a lot of tire in the wheel wells. My front bumper actually comes mounted on the fiberglass front clip ill be buying. But as I go along will post up how it did my stuff. I put on the offset spring perches and will be able to put a 315 on my car easy. My bro with his 73 got the right offset on got 305 to tuck on a stock suspension.
