Hey all. Just uncovered my Coronet after sitting for a little over a year, had a shop fire up my way and she got put on the backburner until we got the rebuild squared away. Anyways I have been collecting a whole mess of parts for it in the meantime, and im down to my last few. Looking for your opinions on rocker arms for my 383. I have an old set of crane adjustable rockers on it, pretty sure theyre 1.5 but im not positive. Was looking at a set of Harland sharps, but again im not sure what ratio to go with. Its a 383 with the 516 heads cut .030, whiplash cam (.518/1.5 rocker, .552/1.6 rocker) and the stock flat tops in it. Do you all figure I can go to a 1.6 ratio rocker without any interference?

With .518 lift and stock pistons I would not go to the 1.6's as you will be pushing your luck in the piston to valve clearance. It wont make enough performance difference anyway so why push your luck as the 1.5's will work fine and since you have them now you know they will clear. Ron

Thats what I was thinking. The car is just a street beater anyway, im not trying to squeeze every single hp I can get. Thanks for the input ron.

Keep the 1.5 Cranes, especially if it's a street car.

I hope well you where working these heads you put in the larger valves and hard seats for a daily driver or find leaded gas
and yes stay with the 1.5 rockers
