Hey all,
Wondering if anyone is running a 3200-3600 stall TC in their street cars.

69 Bee, 451 stroker, six pack, 727 rev manual, 275/60/15's.

Currently has 8 3/4 w/ 3.23's, but Im looking at getting a new pumpkin with 4.10's.

Also cam is relatively mild, chosen based on the gearing. 507/515 lift, 223/230 at .050, 110 center.

Thanks, any input is appreciated.

I run a 4k stall in a 496 stroker. Not crazy radical cam .588 lift but not tame either. My car sees 99% street duty. 727 w/3.51's. I said this in a previous post but will say it again. Most TC manufacturers recommend stall speeds based on cam lift specs. But they will also give you a minimum rear gear to run with that setup as well. I should be running a 3.91 gear but prefer the 3.55.

All and all a 4k is a bit painful to run on the street. Always flashing up to 4k to just get moving. but the alternative would be a car that spins out at the slightest provocation.

If I were you I would contact any TC manufacturer and ask them what they recommend for your cam lift and rear end combo. Then maybe go one size smaller (i.e. 3500 stall if they recommend a 4k as an example) or use what they recommend.

I'm running the comp xe 274 cam which isn't much different than yours. I'm running a 2300 stall and it works perfect for the street. I have a 440 and 323 gear. The cam your running should have good bottom end torque and pull hard in the mid range. With a 3500 stall your really miss getting the gobs torque at 2500 rpm to the ground.

I like "spins out at the slightest provocation" I am going to put an 1800-2000 stall in mine when I get the cash, I need a better idles but like to spin the tires too lol. My cam specs are for a 2k stall 224 - 230 cam. Go to comp cams site and get the camquest software it's free and will tell you what stall you need with the cam you have. Good luck.
