Wasnt sure which section to post in (couldnt see a car/film section) so hope this is ok here...

Anyone planning on seeing the new Tim Burton/Johnny Depp etc film, 'Dark Shadows'?

I went to see it last nite, and was pleased to see my 2 seconds in view of the camera made it into the final cut!

If anyone gets a chance to check it out, about 10min in, when the VW camper drives into the town 'Collinsport', keep an eye on the background and you'll see a red Polara driving from left to right. Dont blink or sneeze tho or you'll miss it! :laughing7:

I definitely want to see that movie, and even more so now that I know your car will be in it. Glad it's in the first ten minutes... not sure I could wait longer than that.

Congrats on making the final cut.

Dont say i didnt warn you tho - it's only a fleeting glimpse and in the background!

Few more mate's cars are there too - 65 Chrysler 300L, 66 Polara, 65/66 Chrysler New Yorker. But again, blink and you'll miss them!

And now your all famous and the value of your cars just went up....sweet!!!!

Thats cool! I wasn't even thinking of seeing this movie but just told the wife we got to now!! Congrats man...

Thanks guys :D

Already been paid, dont worry about that! :eek:ccasion14:

I wouldnt normally have bothered to go see the film but was keen to see if the car was in it (obviously!) and also keen to see how the set looked on the big screen having seen it from all other angles, and without the camera trickery.

I'd be interested to know what you guys think of the 'sets', ie how realistic you think they look, as the film is set in the east coast of the States (the 1972 parts, at least) but was all filmed in England.

Any give aways?

One thing that's bugged me that I cant find the answer to, is when did trucks start using reverse-gear alarms - you know, the beep-beep-beep etc to warn people the vehicle is reversing, so they dont get run over?

One scene in the film has a truck reversing on a construction site and has the beep-beep sounding. I dont think I heard that untill probably sometime in the 80's at the earliest? :thinker:

Any long-serving truckers out there?
