Paint for steering wheel

My 69 Charger has the standard black steering wheel. It is showing some wear and some chips especially on the sides. Is there a special type of paint for this as standard paint looks too thing for coverage ?
Maybe some type of heavier epoxy paint?

I used single stage urethane on this wheel about 20 years ago and it’s doing fine with no sign of wear. Not hardly an everyday driver though.

That's a beautiful interior and the steering wheel looks like new ! Thanks for the tip on the single stage urethane.
