I have a 69 bee that is pale yellow (factory color) with a black vinyl roof and black interior (bench seat). I saw one on the net that was solid black with no vinyl roof. In your opinion, would you paint it black and leave the black vinyl roof on it, or strip the vinyl roof? I am thinking it would look better (cleaner looking) with no vinyl roof, but was just curious what everyone thought. Mine has the ramcharger hood with the side scoops. I wanted to go black with the white super bee stripe. Just asking for opinions. I just don't know that I can like this car with it being yellow. It is not numbers matching car, etc.

this is a black one with no vinyl roof.

Its really gonna look nice either way, I painted my 69 black and left off the vinyl top as all it does is trap moisture and personally I think the car looks tougher without it. If you were a numbers matching guy I would keep it but since its not have it your way. My car turned out great and I dont regret it for a minute. Best Wishes CD

If you have ever owned or painted a black car....beware.....black shows every little "flaw" in the body work and paint....but you cannot beat black when it is done right and clean...focus on the block sanding before you paint.........make sure the surface is "perfect" before you start laying down the paint........suggest many layers/coats of clear....the wet sanding and polishing after will give it that "deep" look......again can't be in a hurry with black........
A painted top will give the car that "muscle" look........the vinyl top will have a more sophisticated look.......what wheels and tires you use will add to what ever "visual" effect you are looking for....

Here's my '69 Bee in black, and the above comment is correct, you SEE EVERYTHING in the paint. BUT everyone say's the car is BADASS!!!

I found this car on the internet while deciding whether I want to put Redlines on my car or not. I like the vinyl top. But ITS YOUR car and you need to make the decision, not what other people think.

I am aware of what it takes to do a nice driver or show black paint job, as I am a body man/painter by trade. I own a small body shop, and I have painted several cars over the years in black. I just don't think I can live with the yellow and black vinyl roof car. I like the black with no vinyl roof look much better. I appreciate all the comments. Thanks guys!
